Diagnosis-first — the repair philosophy in one paragraph
A repair that doesn't start with diagnosis is a guess with an invoice. Our process on every repair call: reproduce and map the symptom, isolate the fault with actual testing (voltage, continuity, load, thermal where heat's involved), then quote the specific repair in writing — before touching anything. The diagnosis fee applies toward the repair, so you never pay twice for one problem. When the fault won't perform on command — the breaker that trips once a week — we have the load-testing and monitoring approach for that too; it's the specialty of our troubleshooting service.
When a repair is actually a warning: an outlet that burned on deteriorated pre-war wiring, a breaker failing inside a recalled FPE panel, the third repair this year on the same aging circuit. When the diagnosis points past the symptom, we say so with evidence — readings, photos, the pattern — and quote both the repair and the real fix, so the choice is informed and yours.
