Three rules, no exceptions: every job gets a written fixed price before work starts — including emergencies at 2am. Permits are inside the quote, never a surprise line or a skip-it offer. And diagnosis fees apply toward the repair, so you never pay twice for the same problem.

Yes — it's a core practice. We price against drawings, rough-in on the GC's schedule, file DOB electrical permits alongside the alteration permits, and return for finish work. GCs request us back.
Three things: building age (pre-war wiring, no grounding, 60–100A service), building governance (co-op boards, alteration agreements, restricted hours), and regulation (DOB permits, ConEd coordination). Competence in all three is the actual product — the wiring itself is the easy part.
